Little's first Ultrasound!

One good thing came from our scare last Friday, we got to see Little up close and personal. This image is not very good, we actually got to see detail on the face and spine, but, hey this is the one they gave us, so I'm taking it. We won't find out gender until June.

PS-that is Little's leg you sickos.

Garden is in!

About a month ago I started a bunch of vegetable seeds inside under a grow light. Well, yesterday Blake tilled up the soil and I planted all of our baby veggies today. It's awesome, we have tomatoes, squash, zucchini, canteloupe, beans, corn and even watermelon. We'll see how much of it survives the deer around here. I'm hopeful. There's been so little for the deer to eat there for years on end; I hope they've forgotten to look there. I'll post a picture as soon as I can.
Update: Well, I don't have to worry about the deer...the MASSIVE downpour we got in about 3 hours managed to do more damage than any masochistic plant could ever dream...grr. Don't live in Kansas, we don't have friendly weather.

Good news after a scary day

Friday I went to work as usual but about 9:00 I experienced some bleeding. I called my doctor and they scheduled me for an emergency ultrasound to make sure everything was ok. I was a mess to say the least. Blake met me there and we had a very thorough exam with the tech. Thankfully everything was fine and they were unconcerned about the bleeding as it stopped shortly after starting and the baby was safe, growing and, shall I say, 'dancing'! That's right, Little has some sweet moves! I mean, Napolean Dynamite type moves... Active heartrate at 160 which is slightly higher than the 153 we heard last week with the Doplar.
The tech also did some measurements and thinks we're off on our due date by about 6 days. Sooo, that puts our new due date at October 31st. Some of you might not be aware, but that date is significant to my family for several reasons. My parent's got married on that date 34 years ago and it was my paternal grandfather's birthday. So, we're hopeful it continues to be a significant day for us.

We heard the heartbeat!

Wow, how cool is this...we heard the heartbeat for the first time today. It took some time for the doctor to find it, but we heard a good 6-8 seconds of "woompa-woompa-woompa". Freak out!!! Blake tried to get some audio of it, so I'll add if I can later. Update: Here's the video/audio Blake took. The very first 1/4 to 1/2 of it you can hear the little "washing machine". That's our baby!!!

Update!

Well, it's been quite a while since I've updated the blog. Quite frankly I didn't have any reason to update it. I signed up so I could create this website for the wedding to make planning and implementation easier. I heard back from several people who said it was very helpful. Great! I'm glad it was.
Well, now we have a new reason to update the blog...we're pregnant! That's right we're going to be first time parents this Fall. November 5th to be exact. I've attached a "widget" to the left to track the progress of our Little. We get to hear the heart beat next week. I'm excited. Actually, I go back and forth between being excited and totally and completely freaked out.
My dad said he'd look for car seats for us when he's in Germany next week. I've done a lot of research on them and from what I've found the Europeans have the car seat design down far better than we do here. We'll see if they allow him to ship it here.
