39 week update

Well, still pregnant here. We had been offered induction Thursday, but that depended on if my cervix had made any progress. Alas, no. Soooo, now we wait to see if he comes on his own. If not, then next Thursday we'll induce regardless of my cervix. Sigh. I'm still hopeful he'll realize how important Halloween is to the Kraft family (Grandpa Bob's birthday, my parent's 34th anniversary) and want to come tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed.
I went and got a pedicure, ate spicy food and walked all over kingdom come today...here's hoping!

39 weeks

I know I'm a week early to post pictures, but I don't think I'm going to make it to 40 weeks. Can you see why???

Toby was feeling needy...he crammed himself into a tiny basket-within-a-basket. He's been very naughty lately-sleeping in the crib.

38 week update

I wanted to give everyone an update. It's been an eventful week. We've been having Non-stress tests all this week and last to just check that he's moving enough. If you're not familiar with NST's, they often do these on any pregnancy that could be high-risk. We had an ultra-sound on Oct. 5th and got some news that he might have too much fluid around him, meaning he's not swallowing his fluid like a good boy. Well, a quick visit to the perinatalologist put our minds at ease. He's fine. He's pretty big, but absolutely fine. But, since that time, they've had us in the high-risk category and NST's twice a week. If he cooperates and is a good boy, he'll move twice in 20 minutes. Well, he moves twice in about 30 seconds, then we sit there and chat with the nurse the remaining 19 min. and 30 seconds. So, we've been cleared to go off the high-risk category. No more NST's for us.
Next update: Tuesday was an eventful evening for us. I was driving home from work about 4:30 and had a huge amount of pain in my back and pressure on my belly. I called the doc and they said to head to the hospital to get checked out. We got there about 6 and spent the next two hours hooked to a monitor to see how he was doing and to see what my uterus was doing. I've since learned that this is what Braxton-Hicks feel like. sigh.
Third update: Saw the doctor today. We have one final ultrasound next Friday to get a growth measurement and to see if I've dialated at all (not so far). My doctor is going to be out of town the week of our due date so we talked about inducing on the 29th of October. She said we can induce regardless of my cervix that day, but it's easier if my cervix is "favorable". So, that's the plan.
You want to know what's weird? I have mixed emotions about being induced. I'm SO ready for this pregnancy to be over, but now that it's here, I have some serious trepidation about actually being done. I mean, our lives are about to change forever and ever and ever and ever...am I ready? Maybe I need another week or two to think it over.
