It seems like every woman I know right now is having a baby. Or, just had a baby. That may be a little bit of an exaggeration, but not by much. I can think of 11 of my friends that are having babies. So, this blog is for you ladies. I'm sure you can add to the list, but here are my top things-I-wish-I-had-known-but-didn't items:

Pampers Swaddlers. Best diapers ever. I love them. Costco doesn't sell them. Don't get a Costco membership just for diapers until you know which diapers you love. I order these off Amazon.com now. Thanks for nothing Costco. I still love your food though.

The woombie.

I think our Kiddapotamus swaddle is great, but my doctor said her daughter kept working her arms free in hers so they switched to the Woombie and never had another problem. Emery started working his arms free and I wish I would have switched to this kind, but didn't. Now he's too big to be swaddled. Brute of a kid.

Love. I totally love this little guy. I'm not kidding. I mean I love Blake and I love my family and I love mint chocolate chip ice cream but nothing, NOTHING tops this kid. I think he is the cutest, smartest, most lovable kid on the planet and I don't mind saying so. I get it now. I get why parents will do anything for their kids. anything. I also love that he looks like his daddy. For some reason, I get more enjoyment out of seeing Blake in him than looking for the bits of me he has.

Trip to the Great White North

We had a great time up in MN this past weekend. Here are some pix of our time there:
Tucker and Brandon played out in the snow and while their pants dried, they decided to share a pair of Grandma's sweats. You should have seen them try to run. Emery was all smiles for G'ma and G'pa this weekend. Here he is looking at me while Grandma took these photos. So precious.

Grandpa had a good time with Emery too! He and Emery had quite the conversation.

Random things this week

This blog is sort of random, sorry.
I've been pretty down this week. Not sure entirely why, but I have my theories. First off, the anti-depressants have given my night sweats for a month now and I'm finally realizing it is not "too many blankets on the bed". Took me sleeping in the guest room to figure that one out. Stupid meds. Going to the doctor in the AM to try to get it switched.
I also think I have a sinus infection. It's weird though, it's in the bridge of my nose, not the sinus cavities like normal. My poor bridge is swollen and red and tener to the touch. If I didn't know better I'd think I fell on it or got punched. Going to the doctor in the AM for that too.
I felt stupid (that happens a lot lately) today because I didn't know what RSV was. Some gals from work got talking about it and I spoke up and said "what's that?" and they (unintentionally) chastized me ("You've never heard of RSV? Didn't your pediatrician tell you about it? Where do you take Emery? I can't believe they've never told you about it!") for not being up on viruses my baby has never had. Turns out it is a virus which means they can't do a dang thing for it if your baby gets it. Believe me ladies, I watch this little man like a hawk. If he suddenly starts seal bark coughing or develops a fever, I'm certain we'll be at the pediatricians office first thing in the am. No need to freak my freak for no reason. grrr.
Plus, I have parent teacher conferences tomorrow and Thursday. I'm worried Emery won't have enough milk stored up while I'm gone to make it over 15 hours without me. Plus, when am I going to pump during conferences?
Can I just say I'm ready for this week to be over?
